Wolf Hollow GC and Pocono Attractions Featured on June Traveling Golfer Show

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) - There is no use of a "way back machine" or any other science fiction device, but the latest edition of the Traveling Golfer television show is a virtual step back in time. With the assistance of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau and Wolf Hollow GC, golfers and interested travelers will feel as they stepped back in time with a visit to a historic inn and golf course, then a guided tour to some of the historic spots along the eastern edge of the Pocono Mountains.

When new owners Shaun and Julie Lyons took over the stewardship of the historic Water Gap CC and Inn they decided to take the course back to its original name - from 1922. Wolf Hollow GC at Water Gap CC now reflects the tradition of the past ... with the added energy and continuing upgrades supplied by the new owners.

"I fell in love with this place the first time I saw it," said Lyons, who spent many youthful summers vacationing in the Pocono area along the Delaware River. "It is one of the most peaceful pieces of property I have ever seen. The course is absolutely beautiful and from the back patio you can see some of the most amazing sunsets in the Poconos."

The course, a quirky tribute to the shotmaking demands of golf in the Roaring Twenties, was once host site for the Eastern Open - a PGA event that brought the likes of Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen to the resort town of Delaware Water Gap. Efforts are underway to restore the course to its former luster.

As part of the show, viewers will be taken to some of the famous attractions in the area. Scenes of the Delaware Water Gap along the Delaware River are breathtaking. A visit to Bushkill Falls, which has been operating as one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Pocono Mountains since 1904, is a scenic delight. A guided tour on the famous Water Gap Trolley provides a lot of the history of the area.

For a look at something new, there is a stop at TreeVentures, the new high-wire act for guests of all ages. It opened recently at nearby Fernwood Resort.

Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora remarked, "I can honestly say that the visit to Wolf Hollow and the side trips to area attractions was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable shoots we have encountered. If I could get the feeling of slipping away into the past and enjoying the history, while working, imagine what vacationers can feel."

The episode began airing June 1 and runs throughout the month on The Traveling Golfer Network (see list of sites on www.travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air on Monday, June 9 as part of the Press Box show in Myrtle Beach, 5 to 7 p.m. on HTC Ch. 4, and as part of the Inside Golf television show on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and Comcast SportsNet in Baltimore/Washington during the end of June.

Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video golf trips to some of the most exciting golf locations.

The Traveling Golfer appears as a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 15 years of experience in televised golf shows. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. The old shows are archived on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.

A network of golf websites, of all sizes, has been created to host the show. The show has its own website -- www.travelinggolfervideo.com. The network of additional websites includes www.golftalklive.net, the website of the award-winning GolfTalk Live radio show that also is hosted by Leodora. Affiliate websites that also air the show are www.myphillygolf.com, www.sportsnetwork.com, www.louguzzi.com, www.yetigolf.net, www.golfbuckscounty.com, www.phillygolffiles.com, www.playaroundgolf.net, www.awaywegogolf.com, mynegm.com, www.golfxpress72.com and americangolfer.blogspot.com.
