The Golf Club at Lansdowne to Host HP Heart & Sole Event

Second Annual Golf Event to Benefit the American Heart Association

(Scottsdale, Az.) – For the second straight year, The Golf Club at Lansdowne has reached out to its local community and provided its magnificent golf course with a charitable golf event to benefit a cause that is near and dear to many residents.

The 2nd annual Hewlett Packard “Heart and Sole” golf tournament benefitting the American Heart Association will tee off at Lansdowne Resort’s award-winning golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II and Greg Norman on September 25. 256 players are expected to participate with tournament proceeds going directly to the AHA. Last year, $85,000 was raised and tournament officials are expecting to be able to donate nearly $125,000 in charitable dollars from this year’s event.

“The Golf Club at Lansdowne has done a remarkable job in not only setting up the golf course and its facilities in a superlative fashion, but we couldn’t be happier with our turnout and the amount of money that we have and will continue to raise for heart disease which continues to be one of our nation’s top killers,” said John Svienty, Heart and Sole Tournament Chairman. “The popularity of the venue is one of the event’s most attractive features.”

Registration fee is $225 for each Hewlett Packard employee and non-sponsor employee and will include greens and cart fee, use of the driving range and practice putting green, player gift bag, drinks, snacks, breakfast and lunch along with an open bar at the end of play.

“Partnering with Hewlett Packard and the American Heart Association means a great deal to all of us at The Golf Club at Lansdowne. Everyone in one way or another has been touched by heart disease in their lives and to be able to give back and provide much-needed funds to such a worthwhile cause brings a lot of smiles around our property,” said Laddie Hunter, Golf Sales & Marketing Director for The Golf Club at Lansdowne.

Raffle prizes for the HP Heart and Sole golf tournament include four box seats to a Washington Nationals baseball game, basketball tickets to George Mason University, Bushnell range finder, NFL merchandise, round of golf at The Golf Club at Lansdowne, among many other items.
