Quicken Loans National Pays Tribute to United States Military Service Members

(PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va.) – The Quicken Loans National golf tournament, making its anticipated return to the DMV this summer, will continue its tradition of tribute to the brave men and women who serve or have served in or with the United States military. In a show of support of military members and their families, the Quicken Loans National, contested July 28 – Aug. 2 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, will again be offering complimentary tickets, food and other amenities to honor the service commitments made by our military families.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), a proud supporter of the armed forces and their families, will once again serve as the tournament’s Military Services Partner. This sponsorship, along with Lockheed Martin employee volunteers, enable many of the military outreach efforts and activities all week long including complimentary tickets are available to all DOD personnel within a 150-mile radius of Washington D.C.

Military Tickets – Tournament officials have distributed 30,000 complimentary Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion tickets to National Capitol Region United States military members. Tickets are available to all Department of Defense personnel (active duty, reserve, retired, National Guard, dependents and civilians), as well as the Coast Guard, from select bases in the area. Tickets are available for distribution at the ITT/ITR offices, visit www.qlnational.com for a complete list. All tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, must be picked up in person and those interested must have access to the installation to pick up tickets.

For those who are Active Duty, Reserve, Retired or National Guard and are unable to pick up a complimentary military ticket at one of the participating ITT/ITR locations, can secure one online at QLNational.com. This service is supported by Quicken Loans and can be accessed at the military ticket website.

Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion - Located on the 15th green, the Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion will be open to all military ticket holders Wednesday through Sunday of tournament week. The climate-controlled pavilion will provide complimentary snacks and beverages, as well as a premier viewing location for our military guests at the 15th green.

Military Appreciation Hole Opening Tee Shot – Two-time Quicken Loans National champion and tournament host, Tiger Woods, will be joined by tournament military caddies to officially open the Military Appreciation Hole (No. 15) on Wednesday, July 29, during his pro-am round. The opening shot is slated for approximately 8:15 a.m., and will include a special commemorative golf ball presented by an official military starter.

We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall – Fans attending the tournament will be welcomed by an impressive tribute to our military near the clubhouse at RTJ. Donning flags and seals from each branch of the military, the We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall allows fans to write their own personal message of thanks to the brave men and women who serve in our military. In 2014, due to an overwhelming response, the tournament was able to fill four large canvases with personal messages of thanks from the fans, caddies, volunteers and PGA TOUR players including Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and eventual champion, Justin Rose.

The USO Activity Zone - The USO Activity Zone will return for its second year and will be located near the tournament’s main entrance, Wednesday through Sunday, for spectators to learn more about supporting our military and their families. Friday through Sunday of tournament week, spectators can pack a special care package for the troops.

Military Caddies – On Wednesday, July 29 enlisted military personnel from Md., Va., and D.C. will serve as caddies for professional PGA TOUR players on the 15th hole, wearing special camouflage caddie bibs during the Quicken Loans National Pro-Am.

Military Starters/Announcers – Eighteen members of the military representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard will serve as starters on the Nos. 1 and 10 tees during tournament week. In addition, on Sunday two military representatives will be stationed near the 18th green and will recognize the players as they complete their final hole.

The 2015 Quicken Loans National will once again be held in the nation’s capital. Thanks to the tremendous support of volunteers, dedicated sponsors and the DMV community, the Quicken Loans National has grown into one of the premier stops on the PGA TOUR, boasting an impressive list of champions -- K.J. Choi, Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Nick Watney and Bill Haas. The event raises funds and awareness for the Tiger Woods Foundation, while paying tribute to our armed forces.
