Product Review: GolfBuddy WT5

I’m not sure if I came to the game late or if I just wasn’t paying attention early, but golf GPS watches have come a long way. I’m on record - not having a steady enough hand to effectively use a laser rangefinder with confidence, so I really appreciate an accurate, feature-laden GPS watch. Enter the GolfBuddy WT5.

All of today’s golf GPS units provide distances to the front, center and back of the green, but the WT5’s Dynamic Green View and moveable pin placement features allow you to customize on the fly with the touch of a button.

A fully functional watch with a rechargeable battery, the GolfBuddy WT5 comes preloaded with more than 38,000 courses and its GPS tracking can also be used for walking and other sports. Want to know how far you ran this morning? Wear the WT5.

And those 38,000+ courses are global. Playing in Canada or overseas? Quickly switch between yards and meters.

Other golf features include distances to targets and hazards, a digital scorecard and automatic course/hole recognition. Bomb a tee shot and want to know how far it went? Press a button to use the shot distance measurement and brag about the blast in the clubhouse.

The GolfBuddy WT5 boasts a slim, comfortable design and looks just as natural off the course as it does while playing.

Like GPS, but not on your wrist? GolfBuddy also makes several handheld and voice models. The voice models clip on your hat or belt and provide audible distances to the front, center and back of the greens.

If you’ve made it to the end of this review, but still prefer laser rangefinders, you’re in luck. GolfBuddy offers two models.
