Golf Courses at Reynolds 'Best You Can Play'

National and State Honors Continue For Premier Southeast Destination

(GREENSBORO, Ga.) — Highlighting one of the most elite collections of golf courses in the United States, Reynolds Lake Oconee has received recognition from GOLF Magazine, with two courses named among the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” list for 2016-2017, and four Reynolds layouts dominating the Top 10 on the Georgia list of “Best Courses Near You.”

Leading the list of honors for Reynolds Lake Oconee is the Jack Nicklaus-designed Great Waters course, ranked No. 41 on the Top 100 nationally, and the Oconee course, designed by Rees Jones, ranked No. 63.

On the “Best Near You” list for Georgia, Reynolds Lake Oconee captured four spots, more than any other venue in the South: Great Waters No. 2; Oconee Course No. 3; the National Course, designed by Tom Fazio, No. 5; The Landing, designed by the late Bob Cupp, No. 10.

Together these gems along Georgia’s Lake Oconee, between Atlanta and Augusta, continue to enrich the reputation of Reynolds Lake Oconee as the nation’s premier golf community and preferred golf destination.

“This collection of diverse courses, combined with Reynolds Kingdom of Golf presented by TaylorMade and our extensive member programming allows Reynolds Lake Oconee to deliver a golf experience that truly cannot be found anywhere else,” Mark Lammi, Vice President of Golf Operations at Reynolds Lake Oconee.

Since MetLife’s acquisition of the lakeshore destination in August 2012, five of the six golf courses have undergone substantial investment and improvements, part of the $40 million in ongoing renovations.

“We are dedicated to maintain the highest quality of golf experience at Reynolds Lake Oconee for years to come,” Lammi said. “The recent projects are evidence of the ownership’s commitment to quality and the long-term success of the community.”

The “Best Courses Near You” is a state-by-state compilation of golf courses accessible to guest and/or public play. It is part of GOLF’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” rankings published in the September 2016 issue and online at www.golf.com.

Reynolds Lake Oconee also is one of only 11 golf resorts in the country to earn the prestigious Platinum Medal from GOLF Magazine.

The newest development at Reynolds is at the National Course, with the unveiling of the golf village – featuring guest accommodations at the National Cottages, adjacent to the golf course, new National Tavern and clubhouse complex. Also, all rooms, cottages, restaurants, the spa, and swimming pools of The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee have been redecorated and refurbished.
